Hey, this is Devan.
It’s hard to believe this day has finally arrived.
Here’s the TLDR: this episode has been in the works in some form since at least 2016. We’ve made merch, it was picked up (then promptly dropped) by an award-winning podcast studio, and in many ways, it’s the reason NO SUCH THING even exists. It’s the idea we first brought to PJ (Search Engine) when we realized we actually wanted to make this whole “podcast” thing real.
So, what’s this genius idea? Glad you asked.
I don’t think horses actually like running.

Now, before you roll your eyes like Manny and Noah did when I first brought this up 9 years ago, hear me out. How often have you seen a horse running—like, really galloping—without any human involvement?
Exactly.
This question has haunted me since middle school, driving past horse farms in New Jersey. The horses. Just standing there. Eating. Never running.
What if this ONE thing we’ve always been told about horses isn’t true at all? What if it’s a lie we’ve told ourselves so that we can enjoy our horseback riding vacations and Kentucky Derbies without guilt?
To answer this question we speak with Ren Hurst, a former professional horse trainer and author of “The Wisdom of Wilderness.” And we venture to New Jersey to spend some time with horses at the Bergen County Horse Rescue.
Bergen County Horse Rescue does some incredible work taking care of neglected and abandoned horses, so send them a donation!
In 2019 we made WILD HORSES HATE RUNNING shirts to spread the word that we've been lied to by the MSM.

If you want to learn more about how Disney lied about lemmings committing mass suicide (something I mention in the episode), check out this story from the Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game.
The credit song this week is I’ve Always Been the First (to Say I Love you) by Certain Self.
