Why are headlights so bright? πππ΅
Are we getting old or are the lights getting brighter?
It feels like weβve all been suffering in silence and I canβt take it any longer. WHY ARE EVERYONEβS HEADLIGHTS SO DAMN BRIGHT? It feels like overnight everyone went to their mechanics and told them put in those LED lights which are brighter than the sun.
I know I am not alone. Everyone Iβve talked to about this has said they too feel that headlights have gotten too bright.
So I wanted to get to the bottom of this: Are headlights actually getting brighter? Are my 32-year-old eyes failing me? Can anyone put a stop to this? I spoke with Daniel Stern, a lighting expert and chief editor of Driving Vision News to try to break down what the hell is going on!

Maryland used to have a law about headlight angle. I remember clearly because I moved there in 1997 and I was broke. When I got my car inspected, I had to pay to have my headlight angle adjusted. I've never heard of that before or since. I have a Volvo now and the headlights bend when I turn the wheel. It's amazing and hopefully I'm not blinding anyone.
